There is an integration between BambooHR and Gusto; however, Gusto is no longer listed as a partner in our Apps Marketplace. This means that we will not be updating the integration and it is not receiving the same level of maintenance that our Apps Marketplace integrations receive. Instead, we recommend using one of our Payroll Partners in our Apps Marketplace to connect BambooHR to Payroll.
There are a few items to be aware of prior to moving forward with enabling the Gusto integration.
- All employees in BambooHR will sync to Gusto. It is a 1-1 integration. This includes all contractors and employees in other locations or countries.
- The integration does not support multi-EIN’s.
- Once an employee has been included in a payroll that has run, at that point in time, the Hire Date becomes fixed in Gusto and cannot be changed.
- Initially, the integration will sync both ways (You will be able to sync any missing employee information from Gusto into BambooHR). After the initial sync, the direction of flow for the integration will be from BambooHR to Gusto only.
- When you terminate an employee in BambooHR, the termination date will sync over to Gusto and change the employee to a “Dismissed Employee.” Once an employee is dismissed in Gusto, you will need to contact Gusto if you need to undo the termination. In BambooHR, you can change the termination in by simply removing the termination date and changing the employee to activate again. Only employees without a termination date are included in the sync.
- Retroactive updates to compensation will not sync to Gusto. This is because a retroactive change to compensation details can affect an employee’s previous paycheck. If you need to retroactively change an employee’s compensation data, you will need to manually make the changes in BambooHR and Gusto.
- As the integration stands today, it is-what-it-is and we are not currently making updates to it.
- The integration may be discontinued at anytime for any reason. Proceed at your own discretion.
